Your outdoor power equipment was built to be operated according to the rules and instructions for safe operation which are contained in the operator's manual and on the machine itself.
Read and follow all instructions in the manual before attempting to operate your outdoor power equipment. As with any type of power equipment, carelessness or error on the part of the operator can result in serious injury. Your machine is capable of amputating hands and feet and throwing objects. Failure to observe the safety rules and instructions, both on the machine and in the Operator's Manual, could result in serious injury or death.
Important: Cub Cadet, its parents, affiliates and subsidiaries, is concerned about the safety of its customers and others. Due to the size of the Operator's Manual, some Operator's Manuals are broken down into two or more segments so that the entire Operator's Manual can be downloaded easily. Skip to Main Content. Product Reviews Rated 5 out of 5 by Roger55 from Excellent performance I bought this Rototiller last fall, and just unboxed it this spring. I wanted a small garden approximately 10 feet wide by 50 feet long. The area that I am rototilling was farmland 25 years ago but has been Prairie ever since. I started out rototilling very shallow as this is hard compact soil now.
This Rototiller broke up the sod very easily.
After about a dozen passes, the ground is chopped up to a real fine grain and I have reached a depth of about 10 inches. Date published: Rated 5 out of 5 by Michelle W from Great product! It offers a comprehensive range of features, although it lacks versatility and maneuverability. This gas tiller features a cc Cub Cadet engine with electric start, which is somewhat cumbersome, requiring you to plug the machine into an electrical outlet, start the engine, then disengage the power cord.
The engine delivers ample power for the majority of tilling tasks. With the tiller's weight of pounds, when it performs heavy-duty tilling, there is little bounce or vibration. However, the weight does mean that this rotovator is hard to maneuver and is not ideal for those seeking a lightweight tiller that requires minimal physical exertion. With inch stamped steel, self-sharpening tines, the Cub Cadet RT 65 E needs minimal tine maintenance and the tines remain in optimal condition for a long time.
The rear tines rotate in dual directions, maximizing performance by providing fine soil structure in a single pass. You can make use of the adjustable depth bar to till up to a depth of 7. The width is fixed at 18 inches, limiting the versatility of this garden tiller, as you cannot till between narrow rows. Although this tiller lacks a front bumper, it does have a full rear-tine shield, offering protection from the tines and from flying soil and debris.
The adjustable side shields allow you to till closely to plants and garden buildings without damaging them with the tine blades or loose debris. The split-loop handle offers less control than plow-style handles, but the height is adjustable, allowing you to find a comfortable tilling position that reduces strain on your back. For extra traction and stability, the Cub Cadet RT 65 E boasts inch pneumatic tires with deep agricultural tread, helping to keep the machine steady even in unfavorable conditions. The heavy-duty counterweight at the front of the machine increases stability, improves balance and helps to hold the machine steady as you till, reducing bounce and ensuring an even till.
Although it is well balanced, it's a heavy machine that lacks maneuverability and has a fixed tilling width, limiting its versatility. Home Reviews. Image 3 of 4 Cub Cadet RT 65 E image: The rear on this unit rotates in dual directions, making for fine soil structures. More on Yard Tools.Tiller tips : Let the tiller pull you. Don't try to push it. Never till with a bent tine.
Remove it and bang it into rough shape with a big ball-peen hammer before reinstalling. Hose the undercarriage and tines clean after every job. No flip-flops. Likes: The Bronco's tines rotate on the vertical axis instead of the horizontal, which—in the right conditions—lets you push through the soil in only one pass. Dislikes: There is no way to drive the Bronco without tilling action. If you need to get it into your truck, be ready for a shoving match with a pound opponent.
Same problem arises if a rock gets stuck in the tines. There's no easy way of driving the tiller out to remove the rock. Likes : Shifts smoothly and with a short throw from forward to reverse, or in and out of tilling. Drives as smoothly as the Cub.
Other details, like positioning the throttle by the operator and designing side guards that float over rocks and tilled soil, contribute to its ease of use.
Likes: Somehow drives just as easily with the tines engaged as without during transportation. The operator control lever is so sensitive that fingertip pressure is all it takes to keep it moving in forward or reverse.
Dislikes: Throttle controls are inconveniently located on the engine, not by the operator. Type keyword s to search. Today's Top Stories. Advertisement - Continue Reading Below. Troy-Bilt Bronco Axis. Husqvarna DRT Dislikes : None.D3 radial dendrogram

I know for some of the tillers they can cost almost as much as a compact new car. So you will want to make sure you are careful when you are looking at the tillers to make sure you find the right one for your garden, but it is also important to make sure you are sure of what you want to get from the tiller and how long you will be using it.
If you are not using this these tillers on a regular basis or if you are going to only garden for a year and quit, then you could have some problems with the tillers you were going to use and that can easily come in the form that just like a used vehicle you will have trouble getting your money back out of these. So make sure you are getting a good tiller and one that will work for your garden for years to come. This is something that is nice because the motor here is a good quality motor and it is going to really be easy to start.
So you will not have to be fighting with the pull cord all the time to get the tiller started up. However, you will find that it does mean you have to maintain the motor or you could find yourself having some issues in getting the tiller started up. When you are looking at a tiller you will want to make sure you can use this for other purposes and that is what you can do here. This is a tiller that will be able to help you get your rows ready, but you will find it will also make it easier for you to have a tiller that is going to start to get some of the weeding done that you want to get done during the growing season.
When you are using this you will notice the depth marker gauge, even if you have it set back to the location and depth it should be is going to be swinging all over the place.
This makes it harder for you to move the tiller without digging up more of your ground. At the same time, this can be overcome if you have some of the different ties around you can use it to keep this up, but it is a pain to do and often means it will involve getting dirtier since this is the part that would be in the ground.
This is a tiller that seems to have a higher price than a lot of the other front tine tillers that we have reviewed. The tiller is one that you are going to like because it can get through a lot of the ground you are going to need to get through, but at the same time, the price is high!
